Karachi Center Hosts Closing Ceremony for Chinese Medicine Trial

The closing ceremony for a Chinese medicine clinical trial took place simultaneously in China and at the Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Clinical Research (CBSCR), Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.

The study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of Jinhua Qinggan Granules (JHQG) in patients with acute upper respiratory tract infection (AURI) and to support the product’s registration.

Speaking at the ceremony in China, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, said clinical trials play a vital role in serving the nation.

He said the study used a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design to evaluate Jinhua Qinggan Granules in AURI patients.

The trial marks another step in collaborative medical research between Pakistan and China, with a focus on evidence-based treatment options and drug development.
