Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctors, the fourth group sent to serve at the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Preah Kosomak, provided consultation and treatment in Ta Non village in Takeo province’s Bati district.

TCM, based on more than two millennia of healthcare tradition, treats ailments based on yin-yang balance—opposing but complementary forces mentioned in Chinese philosophy.

The initiative, organised with support from the Civil Society Forum and the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), aimed to improve community well-being and raise awareness about daily health care practices.

Chief of Doung commune Nop Touch expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation, saying that several residents received general health check-ups, blood pressure measurements, and examinations related to the cardiovascular and digestive systems.

Head of the Chinese medical team Zhang Yan said that 170 residents were screened and treated using TCM.

“Services included pulse diagnosis, body condition assessment, dietary guidance, climate-based health care recommendations, and lifestyle adjustments to prevent illness and maintain long-term health.”

China Foundation for Peace and Development Director Wang Yahui said that supporting such grassroots health initiatives, particularly in Tann Village—a Cambodia-China friendship village—is part of a broader humanitarian mission focused on the well-being of citizens.

Civil Society Forum Chairman Kim Rath Viseth, and Vice-Chairman Duong Vireak, said that the philanthropic activity aligns with the efforts of the Cambodian government to enhance community health and quality of life.

“Such initiatives strengthen cooperation between civil society organisations in both countries, deepen people-to-people friendship between Cambodia and China, and promote peace, humanitarian values, and shared benefits in health and social development,” Viseth said.
