At the event, 18 international students from Hefei University of Technology visited the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wellness fair, personally experiencing practices such as Sanfu patches, pulse diagnosis, Chinese herbal drinks, tuina (therapeutic massage), acupuncture, and more—marking their first immersive experience with TCM culture.
“Feeling a bit warm and very comfortable. It’s my first time trying this, and it’s a very novel experience!” said Hossain, an international student from Bangladesh, as he tried the Sanfu patch on site and shared his initial impressions.
“I tried pulse diagnosis, mugwort hammer therapy, and Chinese herbal drinks today. It was really interesting! I thought acupuncture would be painful, but it only hurt a little. I hope to bring my parents to experience TCM someday,” said NAZLI GUL GURLEK, an international student from Turkey.
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is recognized by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an “International Cooperation Base for TCM.” “Traditional Chinese medicine is the key to unlocking the treasure trove of Chinese civilization. We hope this experience for international students helps them understand TCM culture and continuously promotes its spread internationally and globally!” said Li Fei, Deputy Director and Chief Physician of Anhui Provincial Acupuncture Hospital.
